A new Joint Venture (JV) company has been formed between the EON PreMedia and the US-based New England Typographic Service (NETS) on Wednesday and the companies have named the JV as the NETS EON India. The sources related to the JV formation have informed that the two companies are planning to provide offshore services that range from content development and design to multiple format digital content solutions delivery for the elementary-through-high school (el-hi) educational publishing market, through this new JV company.
The industry sources have informed that the NETS, is being considered as one of the leading companies in content development, design and publishing services space and it is also a preferred partner of a number of el-hi publishers in North America. The sources added that the EON has started its operation just two years back and it has already achieved the ISO 9001 accreditation and built up some strong domain competencies in the offshore production services. The sources also said that the NETS EON India is going to operate out of EONs facility located in Noida and an initial team of 50 people will work for it. The company is also going to create processes and output multi-lingual and multi-format solutions, that are primarily focused on the markets of North America and UK.
One of the sources from the company has stated that the President of NETS, Mr. Michael Kern is going to be the first chairman of the company and he will be rotating the position annually with the CEO of EON, Mr. Suveen Sahib. While commenting on the matter, Mr. Kern said, "EON has demonstrated strong high quality low-cost offshore production coupled with digital convergence capabilities. NETS has built a full-service educational development company. Our international customers are looking at working with fewer larger partners with end-to-end solution capability across multiple geographies, and I am confident that synergies between the companies will help us deliver on this objective and make this JV a great success".
