NTPC Setting Up 750 Mw Plant In Assam Soon
The leading company in the thermal power sector in India, the state-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has recently announced that it is planning to make an investment of Rs 4,375.35 crore very soon. The company officials have stated that the investment would be made for the establishment of a coal- based thermal power project at Salakati in Kokrajhar district in the state of Assam.

Informing that the new project is going to have a production capacity of 750 Mw (3x250 Mw), one of the top officials of the company has stated that the project is likely to come up at the site of the existing non-operational Bongaigaon thermal power station (4x60 Mw). The company has also released an official statement regarding the matter and said that NTPC has already signed an agreement with the government of Assam and Assam Power Generation Corporation (APGCL) for the transfer of the existing infrastructure of the Bongaigaon power station to NTPC.
