The Tile manufacturers upbeat on the back of strong domestic demand and export potential for Indian tiles, have outlined their major expansion plans. Tile manufacturers like Nitco, Kajaria and H&R Johnson have already raised Rs 40 crore from foreign funds for expansion while others like Euro Ceramics plan to go for foreign listing to raise funds. Nitco is proposing to enhance capacity of 60 percent to take its total installed annual capacity to 6.3 million square metres. The company is planning a capital expenditure of Rs 80 crore to double its capacity up to 24,000 square metre a day from the existing 13,500 sq. mt.
Mumbai-based Euro, one of the largest exporters of ceramic tiles, is currently in the process of setting up a sanitaryware facility at its existing plant in Kutchh, with an annual capacity of 11,000 metric tonne per annum.
