DMG India, announced that it will set up a Technology Centre at Bangalore by the end of 2008. The company plans to build an 8,000 m2 centre with two showrooms, one for new machine and the other for used machine. Gildemeister is the leading manufacturer of cutting machine tools worldwide. Its business includes the machine tools and the services segments. The machine tools segment covers the groups new machine business including the turning, milling, ultrasonic and laser technologies. Making this announcement while participating in DIEMOULD, INDIA 2008 at Bangalore, S G Narayan, and managing director, DMG India, said: "With the growth in the Indian machine and tool industry and Indias emergence as a manufacturing hub, we felt the time was appropriate to set up a Technology Centre in India. The Centre will be dedicated to develop customised solutions for Indian customers across all industries." Commenting on the fast changing industry trends in India and reiterating the groups commitment to India, Dr Thorsten Schmidt, member of the Executive Board of the Gildemeister Group said, "We are full of expectation for the ambitious Indian market. Our plans are to set up a production facility in India within the next 24 months."
