The Chennai-based Forms & Gears has bagged repeat order from Mahindra & Mahindra for designing and manufacturing high-pressure hydraulic fixtures for the new generation Scorpio SUV. This precision work holding device on which the Scorpio engine blocks would be machined is critical for the entire engine to perform flawlessly. Reji Varghese, managing director, Forms & Gears, said, "Forms & Gears has over 35 years of experience and expertise in the field and is Asias leading fixture builder. Some of the biggest projects in India have rolled out on fixtures produced at Forms & Gears. From Hyundais Santro, Accent and Sonata to Fords Endeavour and Fusion, Tata Motors Indica, Marutis Alto, Mahindras Scorpio, Cummins, John Deere, Caterpillar, Toyota, some of the biggest names worldwide have profitably partnered with Forms & Gears". He added, "After searching for tool rooms all over Asia and Europe, the Indica engine project for fixtures was awarded to Forms & Gears by Tata Motors in 1997. To date these fixtures are in operation churning out Indica engines day in and day out for over 10 years." Forms & Gears today has customers from all over Asia sourcing fixtures from them, especially for precision engine components. Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Cummins, John Deere, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra are a few of the automobile manufacturers who buy fixtures from Forms and Gears. Moreover, Mazak India and Japan, Makino Asia, Toyoda, NTC- Japan, LMW and BFW are a few of the machine tool clients.
