BHEL Bagged Export Order Worth Rs 550 Crore
The giant state-run equipment company, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has stated that it has bagged a huge export order with a total valuation of Rs 550-crore for supplying boilers. The company has released an official statement on Monday for making the announcement and said that the order has been placed by an overseas joint venture company named the Koniambo Nickel SAS.

The sources from the industry have informed that the Joint Venture was made between the Switzerland-based mining group Xstrata PLC and a local company in New Caledonian and the contract is envisaging the supply of 2x135 MW environment-friendly Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion Boilers and auxiliaries. The official statement from BHEL has also informed that the equipment that the company would supply against the order, would be fully compliant with the global standards. The statement further stated that the company is also targeting a six-fold increase in its physical exports by the year of 2012.
