The entertainment subsidiary company of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG), named the Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE), has announced that it has recently acquired the digital images business of the US-based company, the DTS. The digital images business of DTS is named as the DTS Digital Images (DDI) and it is more popular among the industry people, as the Lowry Digital Images. The officials from RBE have stated that the DDI generally provides picture quality improvement services for the movies, television and video content. They also said that this is the first acquisition by the Reliance Big Entertainment in the digital services space overseas.
While talking about the acquisition further, one of the top officials from RBE has stated that the Reliance Big Entertainment is going to gain access to the Hollywood studios for its content and post-production services, with this acquisition. The company has also released an official statement regarding the acquisition and said that the company will be catering to the rapidly growing 3D content market with technology solutions in order to correct the original stereoscopic footage and re-rendering 2D footage into 3D.
The sources from the industry have informed that the DDI works is currently having work relations with the premium studios of the world like the Walt Disney, Paramount Pictures, MGM and 20th Century Fox. The company is also working with the entertainment leaders like George Lucas and James Cameroon at the moment. The sources added that the company has already restored more than 300 of the worlds most recognized feature films with output to the DVD, HiDef, 35mm film, Digital Cinema and IMAX.
