The fabrics manufacturer company for the suitings, named the Birla VXL has recently announced that it is changing its name to Digjam, from now. The company has released an official statement regarding the name change and said that it has already received a fresh certificate of incorporation from the Registrar of Companies, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company is actually a S K Birla group company and manufacturing fabrics for suitings is its primary activities.
The officials of the company have informed that the company was having two main divisions of textiles and chemicals in the past and now it has restructured its business portfolios. The officials said that the company has started focusing on its textile division and it is mainly engaged in manufacturing and marketing fabrics and ready-to-wear clothing under its own brands.
The industry sources have stated that the Birla VXL usually manufactures the woollen/ worsted yarns, piece goods and fabrics under three brand names like VXL, OCM and Digjam. The sources added that the company is having a number of three manufacturing units located at Faridabad, Noida and Bangalore and it is currently exporting around 40% of its production to the markets like the USA, Europe, West Asia and Far East.
