Two of the major industrial organizations, named Popley Group (India & UAE) and Disney Consumer Products, India have recently joined hands together for launching a couture line of jewellery, soon. The Popley group is having a market capitalization of Rs 500 crore and the new collaboration is marking the entry of Disney Consumer Products into the fine jewellery segment in India.
According to one of the sources close to the development, the jewellery couture is comprising of neckpieces, earrings and rings and the designs have been inspired by the Disney stars like Mickey and friends, Winnie the Pooh and the Disney princesses. The source said that the high-end limited edition couture line is featuring 8 - 88 pieces of jewellery across each of the segments. He added that the International Gemological Institute headquartered in Antwerp (Belgium) and the Plain Gold by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), are going to certify the diamonds in this jewellery couture. The industry sources have informed that the Popley Group is the only retailer, that has the distribution and product development license in India for Disney fine jewellery. The brand is actually a combination of the international expertise and it is being retailed under the premium customer service of Popley Group. The Director of Disney Consumer Products (India), Ms Roshni Bakshi was also talking about the matter and said, "This limited edition jewellery range demonstrates the broad appeal of the Disney brand to consumers here in India. Together with Popley we are solidifying our position in the world of high fashion accessories".
