Kesoram Industries has announced that it is going to shut down the production facilities at Birla Tyres, a unit of the company at Balasore in Orissa temporarily with effect from January 19 till January 31. Thereafter, the production will be only for 13 days in every month till March 31.
The demand from export market and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and M& M has led to these steps, Kesoram said. It added that the matter will be further examined and the company hopes that the situation improves after March.
The company made this announcement with reference to the earlier announcement dated December 16, regarding closure of operations at Birla Tyres, Balasore.
