Emami seeking personal healthcare buys
Emami, the FMCG player is looking for acquirements in the personal healthcare business.

The director of Emami group, Aditya V. Agarwal said, "We are eyeing potential acquisitions in that space....it may be in the region of Rs 500 crore."

This may be Emamis second big acquisition after it bought over 90 per cent stake in Zhandu Pharmaceuticals.

Agarwal included, "After the Zhandu acquisition, we are looking to realign our Rs 700 crore FMCG business-the biggest in terms of revenues, for our group, which also operates in real estate, hospitality among others."

According to Agarwal, FMCG business remains the focus area for Emami. In the coming months the company would concentrate on strengthening Zhandus Chyawanprash brands, while aggressively growing its own Sona Chandi Chyawanprash.

Emamis FMCG business is about to launch Healthy & Fair baby range of products such as baby talc, soap and body oil.

Agarwal revealed, the range is expected to contribute to about Rs 15 crore in revenue in the first year of operations.
