Covidien forays into Indian healthcare market
Covidien, a leading global supplier of healthcare products, has forayed into the Indian healthcare market with the establishment of its headquarters at Gurgaon.

Covidien will work together with the regions healthcare providers and offer cutting-edge medical solutions and services through sustained clinical leadership.

It was earlier known as Tyco Healthcare. Covidien sells some of the worlds best-known brands in the medical device, medical imaging, medical supplies and pharmaceutical markets. With its dedicated focus on R & D, Covidien is famous for developing high-quality, cost-effective products for markets around the world.

The Company has pioneered several firsts including advanced surgical tools and supplies for minimally invasive surgery, electrosurgery and vessel sealing, pulse oximetry and mechanical ventilation.

Covidien is planning to use its earlier experience and create a much stronger presence in the Indian market. In the areas of bariatric surgery and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, Covidien already has sizable market shares, which the Company will look to increase over time.
