The Restaurant group Kwality,which manages over 36 outlets across Indian and abroad under the brands The Village Restaurant Complex,Kwality Express Food Courts,Chopsticks Express,Bread and More,Gaylord Restaurant (London) and Kwality Restaurant,is planning to expand into fast food across Delhi,Mumbai and Goa with an investment of Rs 15-20 crore over the next two years.The Rs 70-crore group intends to add 15 outlets to its repertoire in the year 2006-2007.The expansion plans will focus primarily on two brands-Bread and More and Chopsticks Express.Dhruv Lamba,executive director,Kwality group,told "Seeing the current competition in the food and beverage industry,we are opening six outlets of Bread and More,five of Chopsticks Express and two of Kwality Express across Delhi NCR,Mumbai and Goa in the year 2006."The company is targeting a total turnover of Rs 100 crore by the year-end with these new outlets.
Besides Delhi-NCR,Mumbai and Goa,it would be opening restaurants in Goa,it would be opening restaurants in Agra and Jaipur too.The Kwality group has recently opened its confectionery and bakery outlet Bread and More in a Delhi hospital and is in talks with a few others in the same line of business.Mr Lamba said, "Our expansion plans will be restricted to our fast food outfits only.We have no expansion plans for our fine-dining restaurants as the margins are far better in the fast food business model." He also said, "We have intentionally not gone on an expansion spree with our confectionary and our fast food joints.Our game-plan is to consolidate in the three cities that we are present in and only then move into other smaller towns on a franchisee bases."
